Gangtok / Kalimpong / Pemayangtse / Darjeeling

Located at over 2,000 metres altitude and surrounded by tea plantations, is the Victorian hill station of Darjeeling. The magnificent views across the Himalaya to Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world and  the sunrise over Mount Everest are stunning sights. The delightful mountain retreat combined with Kalimpong and Gangtok, offers breathtaking scenery, oak forests and abundance of flowers, which  provide idyllic settings  to relax in.



Detailed Day Wise Itinerary


  1. Day 01 Arrive Bagdogra – Kalimpong (75 kms. / approx. 3 hours drive)

    Today you arrive into Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri railway station on your own from where you will be driven to Kalimpong for a stay of one night. With a backdrop of the Himalayas, Sikkim offers breathtaking vistas, colourful lifestyles, Buddhist shrines, adventure, watersport, exquisite flora and fauna, including hundreds of varieties of butterflies, all close to the capital, Gangtok.
  2. Day 02 Kalimpong – Gangtok (80 kms. / approx. 3 hours drive)

    In the morning visit the Bhutanese monasteries. Today you drive from Kalimpong to Gangtok where you will stay for two nights.
  3. Day 03 Gangtok

    A very early morning drive out to Tashi View point, which has magnificent views of Mount Kanchenjunga and a number of ancient monasteries across the mountainsides. After breakfast there is a time for a tour of Rumtek Gompa. This monastery, the largest in Sikkim is the seat of the head of the Kagyu order of Tibetan Buddhism. The afternoon is free. You may take an optional tour to the Do-Drul Chorten stupa and the handicrafts center.
  4. Day 04 Gangtok – Pemayangtse (85 kms. / approx. 4 hours drive)

    This morning drive from Gangtok to Pemayangtse whose haunting monastery is poised high above the River Rangit. You will be booked here for a one-night stay.
  5. Day 05 Pemayangtse – Darjeeling (75 kms. / approx. 3 hours drive)

    This morning you will drive from Pemayangtse to Darjeeling where you will be booked for three nights. This hill station is the most important in eastern India and is set against the spectacular backdrop of the Himalayas. The remaining day will be at leisure.
  6. Day 06 In Darjeeling

    Very early morning, visit Tiger Hill to watch the sunrise over the mountains, a special time at this renowned site. Then embark on a walking tour of the city. In the afternoon, take an optional visit to the nearby tea plantation.
  7. Day 07 - In Darjeeling

    Today you visit the Observatory Hill, sacred to Siva, which is an excellent viewing point of the twin peaks of Kangchendzonga (Kanchenjunga). In the afternoon go on an optional tour of the Tibetan Refugee Self-help Centre where you can watch the Tibetan refugees, weaving, spinning and dyeing.
  8. Day 08 - Depart Darjeeling

    In the morning drive from Darjeeling to Bagdogra airport or New Jalpaiguri railway station for your onward journey.
